Chiapas Mexico

August 22, 2009

As Bruce completes his East Coast Golfing With Friends Tour I'm finishing up my last week in San Cristobal, Chiapas. It has been fun and interesting to return to Mexico after being in the US for a couple of months. There is so much to love about Mexico and the people, just as there is much to love about the US. Life is not always easy in Mexico, but that is what makes it so interesting, fun and adventurous....you just have to be alert, cautious, flexible and keep an open mind.

For those interested, I've included my latest power point photos while working with humanitarian Sergio Castro. Be forewarned these medically "impressive" photos are not for the faint of heart.

If you would like to donate funds to help Sergio feed his cats (and support his humanitarian work) please click on the donate button in the right column of this blog. Muchissimos gracias!

Zinacatlan women make corn tortillas, the guide tells us they are high in calcium..hence no osteoporosis. I think also the weight-bearing work may also have something to do with it. ...we've seen women carry more than 100# of wood on their backs. The tortillas were delicious!
